The Story Behind DTOX

DTOX didn't start as a business plan. It started as a personal need.

I've spent my whole life around food, cooking and taking care of the body. For years I ran kitchens, specialised in dietary nutrition and lectured. I also lived in Amsterdam for a while, which brought me even closer to the world of cannabis. And like many others, I was looking for a way to function after smoking while still taking care of myself.

The internet was full of advice and products promising miracles. I tried some of them. And I realised this was not the way.

So I started looking for my own solution and testing, slowly and thoroughly. First for myself, then for friends. I wanted something that would make sense, be gentle, and fit into a normal self-care routine — with an emphasis on digestion and how you feel overall after consuming cannabis.

For a long time we carried DTOX around in the car, handed it out to people around us and kept refining it. Only when we were convinced we had something I could stand behind one hundred percent did it become a real business.

And that's how we work to this day. I stand behind DTOX personally — from the idea through product development, labels and graphics to the way we manufacture and present it. We're building our own production and our own machines. I studied civil engineering and I've always loved building things. Just like I've enjoyed doing many other things — from cooking to music.

Maybe that's why DTOX isn't a typical product project. It's the result of many different experiences, a personal need, and above all an obsession with doing things properly.

Today we're building a brand that wants to be the first true Self Care Routine for cannabis users. We do our own development and our own production, and we try everything ourselves first. Only what we're truly happy with goes to market.

And we're not done. DTOX still has plenty of work, new products and ideas ahead.

Because someone has to be first. And we've decided it's going to be us.
